Nothing gold can stay.

It's been a wonderful break. So many great things have happened. Here is a brief list of some of the highlights:

First, I got engaged to Aaron!! Yay!

Next, we did a ton of wedding planning: We picked a venue (Chesapeake Boathouse in Oklahoma City), hired a photographer, registered at a couple stores (not finished with that!), and I bought a dress! We still have a lot to do, but it's nice to have a lot of the major choices made.

Also, I got to visit Mary, Adam and Danis in NYC with my mom and was able to hang out with a lot of other family over the break.

Finally, I slept a lot, got caught up on some TV and reading, and had the opportunity to try a few new recipes (however, after the "homemade hummus incident" today, I can say that I will be relieved to take a break from experimenting for a bit).

However, as Robert Frost put it, "[s]o dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay." I start my second semester in law school tomorrow with a full plate of classes and events. It'll be nice to see everyone again, but I will definitely miss this free time.

Because I love Robert Frost, I've included the entire poem here. Enjoy!

Nature's first green is gold
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

~Robert Frost

As a special treat, here's Pony Boy's recital:

    man, I homemade hummus today too!!! that shit is crazy. but this time i used dried white beans instead of chickpeas. in any event, it was delicious and far better than any excuse for hummus that is sold in deutschland

  2. Mine is super lumpy... think I just need a higher powered blender?? I have to say, mine was not so delish, and definitely doesn't beat the stuff they sell here. ;)
